Trade Fair Associated to the Festival

From February 27th to March 3rd of 2017, Cuba will be once again, the venue of the biggest international meeting for the lovers of the best cigar all over the world: the Habano.

On this occasion, the Habanos Festival will be honored the brands most exclusive brand of portfolio H. Upmann (Gran Reserva) , Quai D´Orsay and Montecristo.

 The delegates present in the Habanos Festival will have the pleasure to exclusively taste the new cigar that Habanos S.A will launch to the market in 2017 and experience the secrets of a tradition acquired over centuries. Habanos S.A invites you to enjoy a week full of pleasure and delight, surrounded by friends that share a common bond: the passion for Habanos.

The program of the Habanos Festival includes its traditional activities for this unforgettable week, as follow:

  • Visits to cigar factories
  • Commercial fair
  • Seminars
  • Cigar tasting and pairing ups
  • Habanos Sommelier Contest
  • Master class on how to roll a Habano
  • Visits to tobacco plantations

The Commercial Fair will be opening on Monday February 27th at 2pm , and will be held in line with the seminar. They are both inseparable parts of the Festival and the ideal moment for the technical and commercial exchange among business people, producers and dealers. Business people, artisans, artists, traders or producers are allowed to exhibit and sale their products in spaces rented by a company, country or organization. These products must be related to:

  • Products relate to tobacco agriculture
  • Machinery
  • Craftworks
  • Paintings
  • Bibliographies
  • Smokers accessories
  • Luxury goods
  • Gourmet products
Modular stand: 110.00 CUC x m2 (minimum 9 m2)
Free area 100.00 CUC x m2 (minimum 9 m2)

National entities which are not entitled to commercialize its products in CUC should pay the fees in local currency (CUP), those which do otherwise will pay only 50%.

During the fair, exhibitors are allowed to sale their products to the public and carry out promotional activities, previous coordination with the Organizing Committee. The design of the stands belonging to exhibiting companies must show their direct or indirect relation with tobacco products.

The use of brands protected by Habanos sa should be previously authorized.


The number of exhibitors per stand will depend on the number of square meters contracted by the firm or company. Exhibitors will have right to:

  • Name badge
  • Bag containing the documentation of the event
  • Exhibitors’ Catalogue
  • 2 invitations per stand for the Welcoming Evening
  • Farewell Lunch
  • Participation certificate

Price of the Additional Credential is 150.00 CUC with right to:

  • Name badge
  • Bag containing the documentation of the event
  • Exhibitors’ catalogue
  • Farewell Lunch

The prizes of the Commercial Exhibition will be announced on March 3rd, during the closing activity of the Seminar. The Organizing Committee of the Commercial Fair, together with a specialized jury, will choose the winners. Prizes will be given by outstanding personalities of the Cuban cigar industry.

There will be prizes in the following categories:

  • Prize and mention to the “Best Free Design”
  • Prize and mention to the “Best Modular Stand”
  • Prize and mention to the “Most Visited Stand”
  • Prize to “Integral Communication” or “Comprehensive Communication”

The PALCO Agency is the one dedicated to the procedures, picking and transportation of goods for the Fair.

The delivery deadline for the goods is the following:

Air Way: 10 days prior to the Fair’s opening day (minimum).
Sea Way: 15 days prior to the Fair’s opening day (minimum).

In order to clearance the goods the original B/L is required.

The goods must be consigned to:

Fairgrounds: Palacio de las Convenciones
Notify to: Palco Customs Agency

The required documents are:

  • B/L (originals) or AWB (fax copy)
  • Commercial invoice (specify product description, quantity, price, total cost, currency and consignment conditions according to Incoterms)
  • Original certificates according to the nature of the goods (sanitary, phytosanitary and veterinary)
  • Insurance policy (if any)
  • Packing list
  • Certificate of origin or certification of origin in the invoice

In light to the customs requirements for goods arriving into the country as accompanying luggage, we will do this service any day as horary including the weekends.

The luggage retained by customs will be notified to the agency, which will receive the retention documents and the invoice so the luggage can be processed and later sent to the exhibition site. This service will only be offered by the Agency with no less than 72 hours in advanced.

This notification must include the passenger’s information as:

  • Name and surname
  • Passport
  • flight
  • Date and time of arrival.

Re-export of the goods is also carried out, at the exhibitor’s request.

The participants in the Habanos Festival Trade Fair are entitled to appear in the Exhibitors’ Catalogue, for which purpose they must send before December 23rd, the information and logo of the exhibitor company or enterprise, as well as the list of articles, products or trademarks to be exhibited.

The inclusion in the Exhibitors’ Catalogue will be completely free up to ten printed lines. Each additional line will have a cost of 5.00 CUC. The International Conference Centre (Palacio de las Convenciones) and the Organizing Committee are not obliged to include in the catalogue the corporate information on the exhibitor companies if the information is delivered after the above-mentioned deadline December 23rd.

The advertisement of the Catalogue will have a cost in accordance with the price tariffs established for each case, and shall adjust to the following specifications:

  • Dimensions: 14,7 x 19,6 cm
  • Indentation: + 5 mm

The illustrations must have the following formats:

  • Adobe Photoshop psd, tif in layers
  • Adobe Illustrator with typefaces attached
  • Corel Draw with typefaces attached
  • Freehand with typefaces attached

Images must be in PSD, TIF, or JPG non-compressed formats, with not less than a 300 dpi resolution, and a size that allows an acceptable reduction without affecting the resolution.

Included texts accompanying company logos will be accepted in the following formats:

  • Corel Draw
  • Adobe In Design CS 3
  • Adobe Page Maker 6.5
  • Macromedia Frenad
  • Adobe Illustrator
