The first Habanos Night: A success amongst the most demanding palates

  • Around 300 people attended the event
  • Attendees had the opportunity to taste in premiere in Spain the Montecristo 80 Aniversario and the Trinidad Vigía.

On May 16th 2015, Habanos “aficionados” and gourmet lovers enjoyed a very special night. For the second time, Club Pasión Habanos – the Spanish private smokers club in Spain – organized the event that has turned into the most important for celebrated in Spain. A unique event that brought together around 300 people to taste the best Habanos together with an exquisite selection of Premium products in a spectacular location: Casa de Pilatos, a historical building from the 15th century placed in the historical center of Seville.

This time, the event was celebrated at night time, from 8:00pm to 2:00am. Six hours in which the attendees enjoyed a wide range of activities: from participating in a famous competition that consists on obtaining the largest ash, to making their own Habano guided by authentic Cuban “torcedores” and José Andrés Colmena, Habanos Brand Ambassador. They also had the opportunity to participate in several workshops, such as ron Havana Club, champagne Charles Heidsieck or learning how to make the perfect cocktail under the guidelines given by the best experts from Coctelería Premier.

Moreover, this Premium experience was accompanied by exquisite degustation from the best products, such as gin Plymouth, brandy and wines from Jerez Ximénez-Spínola, Whisky Chivas, Beer Cruzcampo Gran Reserva, caviar from Riofrío, coffee Nespresso or traditionally made ice cream from Bolas Helados Arte-Sanos, amongst many others.

Throughout the entire event, attendees could visit several exhibitions, such a collection of the most emblematic Cuban humidors acquired by the Spanish distributor (Tabacalera) in the last Habanos Festivals, the winning designs of the Club Pasión Habanos Smoking Chair contest, fountain pens and smoking articles from Iguana Sell or a Porsche display.

Of course, the stars of the night were the Habanos, specially chosen for the occasion: Montecristo 80 Aniversario , which commemorates the 80 anniversary of the brand, and Trinidad Vigía , the latest launch of one of the most emblematic brands of Habanos.

This event, which started last year with the Habanos Day, has become mandatory for all the aficionados around Spain.

The official Denominación de Origen Protegida (D.O.P.), or Protected Denomination of Origin used only to describe the most outstanding brands of cigars, which are manufactured in Cuba to the most exacting standards established by the Regulatory Council, from tobaccos grown only in particular areas of the island that are also protected as Denominations of Origin. In English the word translates as Havanas, which are widely considered to be the best cigars in the world.
