Habanos, S.A. introduces the Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Belicosos at Cannes

  • An exclusive product for the Duty Free and Travel Retail channels.
  • This novel and innovative release will be showcased at the exhibition, along with all the other major new launches presented by Habanos, S.A. in 2017.

Habanos, S.A. will launch an exclusive product for the Duty Free and Travel Retail channels at the 31st edition of the Tax Free World Association World Exhibition & Conference at Cannes: the Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Belicosos (52 ring gauge x125 mm length), with an up until now inexistent format in the regular  portfolio and that has only been used previously in some limited or regional editions. This product will come inside a special travel humidor, with an exclusive production, becoming a high value and exclusive premium product.

Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Belicosos (52 ring gauge x125 mm length) is one of the favoured Habanos for those who enjoy the heavy ring gauge format in a short smoking time.

The Hoyo de Monterrey brand is located on the fertile riverbanks of the tobacco-growing district of , in Cuba. The soft flavour of its blend promises a more appealing option for those who prefer a more delicate and aromatic Habano with an elegant and complex character.  

The Duty Free and Travel Retail Global Summit at Cannes (France) organized by the Tax Free World Association will be held from Sunday, 1st to Friday 6th October.  As well as the Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Belicosos (52 ring gauge x125 mm length), Habanos, S.A. will present this year’s most iconic releases and a selection of the brands’ most renowned vitolas. The Exhibition represents a global showroom for premium brands, featuring several conferences and workshops that round off a comprehensive and varied program.  

Habanos, S.A. will have a stand at the exhibition, located in Bay Village (stand number 23) and will offer a gala cocktail to welcome its distributors and clients, where guests will also get to enjoy an exclusive tasting of the Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Belicosos.

The official Denominación de Origen Protegida (D.O.P.), or Protected Denomination of Origin used only to describe the most outstanding brands of cigars, which are manufactured in Cuba to the most exacting standards established by the Regulatory Council, from tobaccos grown only in particular areas of the island that are also protected as Denominations of Origin. In English the word translates as Havanas, which are widely considered to be the best cigars in the world.
A famous small town in Vuelta Abajo which gives its name to a district that is protected as a Denomination of Origin. It has a particular reputation for the cultivation of fillers and binders.
Totally by hand. A description created in Havana to differentiate between Cuban methods of making cigars by hand from the semi-mechanised metods used elsewhere that can legally be described as "Hecho a Mano" or "Hand Made".
