Global Launch of Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos in Poland

Last September 26th, 2018 was presented: Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos.

The host of this event was 5th Avenue Products Trading GmbH, Exclusive Distributor for IN Germany, Austria and Poland along with its subdistributor in Poland – Premium Cigars Sp. z o.o.

Over 170 people walking through a long red carpet, and they were  welcomed by the CEO of Premium Cigars, Mr. Bartłomiej Przytuła, who recived the attendees and who welcomed also to the owner of Villiger Sohne AG and 5th Avenue, Mr. Heinrich Villiger.

In a short speech, he thanked Premium Cigars Company for the organization of the event and expressed appreciation and joy for the development of the company, which is the representative of Habanos S.A. in Poland. The presentation of the Hoyo de Monterrey brand and its vitola Escogidos was conducted by Łukasz Ważyński, Trade Marketing Manager of Premium Cigars, who accompanied by lofty music in the background, and with the words “Gentlemen you may smoke”, Mr. Bartłomiej Przytuła solemnly invited guests for tasting of the new Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos.

Among the invited guests were ambassadors from: Kuba, Venezuela, Panama, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Belarus, executives of Habanos, S.A., 5th Avenue, celebrities, businessmen, Polish aficionados and visitors from all over Europe.

During the premiere, exquisite treats were served from one of the best restaurants in Warsaw: Concept 13, as well as cocktails based on Moet & Hennessy spirits and exceptional chocolates served to match the taste this fantastic Habano. A unique attraction was the opportunity to appreciate the art of making a Habano for one of the most talented Cuban cigar rollers- torcedores-, Mr. Yasmel Sotomayor Rodriquez, from Partagas factory.

Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos (49 ring gauge x 180 mm length) with the Paco is distinguished by an elegant profile of construction, a smooth cover leaf and a perfect structure. Full harmony of aromas (dried grass, spices, coriander) and complex, smoothly flowing tasting palette of flavors (dry notes, cedar, grassy, earthy), leaves no doubt why this cigar was “chosen”. There are ten cigars in the box, made ​​”con ” – Totally Handmade with Long Filler – following an extremely careful selection of leaves- the wrapper, the filler and the binder from the plantations of *, district, in the heart of the * region in *, Cuba*.

Hoyo de Monterrey Escogidos will be sold exclusively through the international network of La Casa del Habano franchise stores. Escogidos were made for the occasion. it hences paying tribute to the vitola’s name that also refers to the agro-industrial and manufacturing phases of the tobacco producing process called the “Escogida– sorting”. This product is distinguished by its limited and meticulous production and development processes.

The official Denominación de Origen Protegida (D.O.P.), or Protected Denomination of Origin used only to describe the most outstanding brands of cigars, which are manufactured in Cuba to the most exacting standards established by the Regulatory Council, from tobaccos grown only in particular areas of the island that are also protected as Denominations of Origin. In English the word translates as Havanas, which are widely considered to be the best cigars in the world.
A word with many meanings. In Spain it means a cigar band or ring (vitolfilia cigar band collecting). To some it has an almost spiritual meaning encapsulating every aspect of their cigar of choice.
Totally by hand. A description created in Havana to differentiate between Cuban methods of making cigars by hand from the semi-mechanised metods used elsewhere that can legally be described as "Hecho a Mano" or "Hand Made".
Long filler. Filler that is made from full-length tobacco leaves.
A famous small town in Vuelta Abajo which gives its name to a district that is protected as a Denomination of Origin. It has a particular reputation for the cultivation of fillers and binders.
