The IV Habanos Day in Costa Rica finished the 2025 edition with the celebration of “unique moments” for their fans

Cruz Canela, exclusive distributor for Habanos to Costa Rica and Nicaragua, celebrated its fourth Habanos Day in the city of San José from May 15th to 17th. During these days, all the attendees were able to enjoy experiences full of the Habano flavor and culture.

Activities began on Thursday May 15th at La Casa del Habano in San José, with a pairing of Ron Eminente and Partagás Serie D No.4. Conducted by Mr Raúl Bravo, the Eminente brand ambassador, who travelled from Cuba to this edition and to which, his company Bon Vivant sponsored this first event.

The evening of Friday May 16th, La Casa del Habano’s clients enjoyed a demonstration made by Ms Yonaidis del Carmen Cedeño Mestre, a Master Torcedora and former member from the Quality Committee of La Corona Habano factory.

Finally, the main celebration of the IV Habanos Day took place on the night of May 17th, at Sheraton Hotel in San José. This year, the event was moved from the Pacific coast to the capital, with an urban and elegant theme.

The event gathered 100 exclusive guests and was organized by Cruz Canela & Trust GB S.A. in collaboration with La Casa del Habano and the Embassy of Cuba in Costa Rica.

The event had the participation of experts and aficionados from the world of the Habano, cigar clubs, sommeliers, baristas, and mixologists, as well as the renowned participation of the Cuban Ambassador in Costa Rica, his Excellency Jorge Rodriguez, who offered  a toast to the attendees.

This Gala took place at the exclusive and elegant Roma Rooftop of the Sheraton Hotel, with amazing views to San José, not only celebrated the fourth Habanos Day but also  marked the 35th anniversary of La Casa del Habano worldwide, and the 15th anniversary of La Casa del Habano in San José.

Guests had the chance of enjoying exclusive Habanos from La Casa del Habano such as Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Deluxe, H. Upmann Royal Robustos, Punch 48, and Romeo y Julieta Cedros de Luxe. Throughout the event, Yonaidis del Carmen Cedeño delighted attendees with demonstrations on the Habanos making.

A menu composed of nine exquisite dishes fusing Costa Rican and Cuban cuisines, were crafted by the Chef Pedro Suriel from the Sheraton Hotel. Coffee and chocolates sponsored by Café Britt were key to the nightly tasting experience.

Diches and Habanos were paired with Rioja wines, Dalmore whisky, and specially with Eminente Reserva rum. Also a special cocktail “Isla de Cuba” made with light amber rum which it was served as a welcome drink. Bon Vivant, one of the most leading distributors of gourmet products in Costa Rica was also present as an event sponsor with its varied and exquisite selection.

The night was brought to life with musical performances by violinist Esteban Salas, saxophonist José Contreras, the orchestra Carlos Julio y su Son, and DJ Minor Iztep. The evening concluded with a raffle of special prizes, including a box of BHK 52, in commemoration of the 15th anniversary of Cohiba’s most exclusive line.
