Trinidad Topes Edición Limitada 2016 is presented in Venice

The brand Trinidad and its Trinidad Topes celebrated its official presentation last Thursday 9th of February in the prestigious palace Ca’ Vendramin Calergi, over the magical Canal Grande of Venice. This palace was the residence of the Venice Doges and the last home of Richard Wagner. It is a location rarely used for private events.

The event, organized by “The House of Cigars” (Habanos Specialist of Venice) in partnership with Diadema S. p. A. (Official Distributor of Habanos for Italy) joined around 90 guests, Habanos Specialists, Habanos enthusiasts from all around Triveneto. The event started with the tasting of a classic from the brand: Trinidad Reyes (40 ring gauge x 110 mm length), where the attendees enjoyed the pairing between the Trinidad Reyes and the careful selection of rums and chocolates.

The real protagonist of the night was with no doubt the long awaited Trinidad Topes 2016 Limited Edition. In the great environment of Ca’ Vendramin Calergi, with views over the Canal Grande of Venice, it has been presented to the guests with all its opulence.

An extraordinary event, which has been the first time in which a great Habano has entered in the exclusive and reserved rooms of one of the most famous palaces in Venice.

Trinidad Topes, as all the Habanos Limited Editions, has been produced with leaves of  wrapper, filler and binder for at least two years of ageing. Trinidad Topes with a factory name Topes (56 ring gauge x 125 mm length) does not exist in the standard portfolio of the brand. As all the Trinidad Habanos, Topes has also the characteristic of “pigtail” closure.

The official Denominación de Origen Protegida (D.O.P.), or Protected Denomination of Origin used only to describe the most outstanding brands of cigars, which are manufactured in Cuba to the most exacting standards established by the Regulatory Council, from tobaccos grown only in particular areas of the island that are also protected as Denominations of Origin. In English the word translates as Havanas, which are widely considered to be the best cigars in the world.
Limited Edition. Special productions of Habanos made annually using fillers, binders and wrappers aged at least 2 years before the cigars are made. The wrappers come from the top leaves of the shade-grown (tapado) tobacco plant, which are darker in colour. Boxes can be identified by an extra black and gold seal indicating that they contain Limited Edition Habanos and the year in which they were released. Each Habano is dressed with an extra band giving the same information.
