II Habanos Day in Costa Rica
On the golden sands of Esterillos beach, on the Costa Rican Pacific coast, the II Habanos Day was celebrated. This Habanos Day was organized by Cruz Canela & Trust GB S.A., Exclusive Distributor of Habanos, S.A. for Costa Rica, and Nicaragua, in collaboration with San José’s La Casa del Habano and the Cuban Embassy at Costa Rica.
Habanos Day was celebrated at Alma del Pacífico hotel, where expert aficionados, other trailblazers of the Cigar culture, Smoker’s clubs, members of the local government and the Cuban Embassador, Mr. Jorge Ramírez Rodríguez, gave the opening speech for the participants.
On this occasion, with a more tropical beach themed flare, with the attendance of around 100 guests who enjoyed multiple activities as such as conferences, at the frame of the Habanos Academy, pairing between H. Upmann Magnum 54 and 130th Anniversary Flor de Caña Rum, both 18 and 25 years.
During the event, the guests were treated to a 9 course dinner with Costa Rican and Cuban fusion, created by renowned chef D. Fernando Alfaro. Coffee and chocolate were sponsored by Café Britt and were part of the night’s tasting.
Romeo No. 2, Wide Churchills and Montecristo Tubes were the protagonist brands of the night in honor of tobacconist reader, once national heritage of the Cuban Republic.
The night’s entertainment included saxophone and Cuban music by the band Chocolate and to close the event, international DJ Richard Castro set the beat.
