Cuba tiene su representante en el Concurso Internacional Habanosommelier.
After a long competitive session, the 14th National Contest, an annual event organized by Habanos s.a. concluded last January 24th at the Tenerife Hall of Hotel Melia Habana. In this occasion, the contest was held among the 15 sommeliers who had won at regional level throughout the country.
Andrés Piñón Rivas, sommelier at Hostal San Felipe Neri, an entity of Habaguanex, was the winner of this 14th edition, and will represent Cuba at the 13th International Habanosommelier Contest during the 16th Habanos Festival, to be held from 24th to 28th of February. The second and third places were obtained by Daniel Reyes Lisea, chef of the restaurant Las Terrazas resort and Ivonne de la Puente del Sol, teacher at the School of the Bartenders’ Association of Cuba.
Likewise, the three people who will take part in the First Contest to obtain the longest ash have also been chosen. They are: Danay Gil from (Hotel Presidente), Daylín López from (Hotel Parque Central) and Mabel Durán from Castropol.
