The fourth Edition of the Montecristo Golf Cup will be held in the Varadero Golf Club, Cuba, from the 19th to the 21st of April, 2012.
The three previous Editions counted with the participation of players from countries such as France, Italy, Korea, Spain, Great Britain, Japan, Germany, Andorra, Cuba and Russia among others.
This years’ Great Britain´s Tony Jacklin, a golf legend who won the US open and the British Open will be again the tournaments’ guest of honour.
For the first time the event will include a tasting which will be held on April the 20th, which we hope will please all participants. Products from two great origins will de matched. Whisky Auchentoshan Three Wood, a triple distilled Single Malt Scotch aged in American Bourbon casks, Spanish Oloroso Sherry Casks and Pedro Ximenez Sherry Casks will be tasted together with Montecristo No. 2, a figurado (shaped at one end) which is the reference of the brand considered by many as the benchmark for Habanos flavor, made with selected tobacco leaves from Vuelta Abajo, the best growing region of Cuba. Two prestigious Habanosommeliers form Varadero will guide the tasting: Omar Eloy Alonso and Juan Manuel Betancourt.
In this occasion 120 players will be allowed to participate. Prizes will be given in different categories, being the Montecristo Cup the prize for the main category.
For the first time in this 4th edition the “Copa Palmares” will be given to the winner in the Ladies Category as well as the traditional Esencia Cup.
All the prizes will be given during the Gala Dinner that will close the 2012 Montecristo Cup.

En esta edición asistirá de nuevo el británico Tony Jacklin, una leyenda de del golf que fue campeón del US Open y del British Open, quien estará como personalidad invitada.
