On April 12th, in the city of Lisbon (Páteo Alfacinha), Portugal, was celebrated the 154th Anniversary of Casa Havaneza, the ideal occasion for the launch of the much expected Regional Edition Bolivar Lusíadas.
Casa Havaneza is one of most emblematic and oldest tobacco shop in the world, it is said that it was created in 1864, but there are ads from that time that say that its doors were opened in 1855. Empor S.A., exclusive distributor for Portugal, has four Casa Havaneza, three of them in the city of Lisbon and one in the city of Oporto.
The dinner, organized by Empor, S.A. and with the presence of the Cuban Ambassador, Excma. Sra. Mercedes Martínez and other personalities, has become magnificent scenery for pairings between Habanos, Runs, Mojitos, Gin and Wines of high quality, a unique set of aromas and flavors that were enjoyed by more than 100 customers.
The participants had the opportunity to taste several Habanos, one of them being the Montecristo Petit Edmundo, accompanied by Havana Club Mojitos, Gin nº3, Founders on the Rocks and Sandeman Branco Tónico.
The dinner was filled with good mood, between poetry recited by the actor Pedro Giestas – an excerpt from “Os Lusíadas” dedicated to the new Regional Edition – and the musical animation of a Cuban group.
The night ended with the tasting of the protagonist, the new Regional Edition for Portugal Bolívar Lusíadas, accompanied by The Glenrothes Select Reserve, Sandeman Porto Tawny 20 years and Havana Club Selección de Maestros.
Furthermore, the participants enjoyed the awards ceremony offered by Empor S.A. and the sponsors Sogrape y Pernord Ricard.
