Once again, the brand connected its two nations around the cigar afición. In the 70s, Quai
d’Orsay was Habana’s answer to French President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, who wished to
have a great Cuban cigar to pair with French gastronomy, wines and lifestyle.

Four decades later, on the 26th of November 2015, over a hundred of Cuban and French
diplomats, members of Parliament, journalists, retailers and cigars enthusiasts joined to
celebrate Quai d’Orsay’s brand-new named Robusto Diplomático.

“Ambassador Héctor Igarza Cabrera generously offered to host this great event, says
Antoine Bathie, GM of Seita Cigares, exclusive distributor of Quai d’Orsay and José L. Piedra in France. We were also glad and proud to welcome the exhibition Visages de Cuba, a photography artwork by French artist and famous TV presenter Nikos Aliagas.

Quai d’Orsay Robusto Diplomàtico is a 127 x 19 mm cigar (cepo 48), hand rolled in Cuba
in 2015. Guests enjoyed a tasting of the first that arrived from La Habana, among the 7000
numbered boxes of 10 robusto that were made and entirely reserved for the French
market, since it is a Habanos regional edition.

Many knew the Quai d’Orsay liga as being one of the smoothest in Cuba, with distinctive
fragrances of precious wood, creamy and pastry notes such as honey, vanilla and hazelnut.
And being recently rolled, tasters noticed that the Robusto Diplomático adds a beautiful
bouquet of dried flowers and a surprisingly medium-bodied finish with earthy tones.

It was successfully matched with Havana Club Mojito and Champagne, according to Quai
d’Orsay’s association of the Cuban craftmanship and the French art de vivre.
