November 20th : The day of the cigar taster in Cuba
On the long road of the Habano, the taster plays a very important role: is who has the authority to qualify or disqualify the virtues or defects in a product, i.e. its perfection.
The taster’s tool is nothing but his palate, but also the knowledge and experience are of great value.
In Cuba every cigar factory has his team of tasters, who gather to taste cigars being produced day to day and evaluate them according to a system of parameters that include draw, combustibility, aroma, flavour, strength and overall quality of the cigar. If there is any difference with the parameters established in the nature and format of the brands and , tasters may suggest adjustments.
The tasters are the first line of the National Tasting Commission that is responsible for the consistency of the blend of all Habanos brands.
