First Habanos Academy in Venezuela
On September 27, 28 and 29, 2022, the first Habanos Academy in Venezuela was organized by the distributor for the market, Kukenán Tobacco Trading.
The Habanos Academy Junior and Senior courses took place at Quinta Las Rosas, a prestigious venue for events in Caracas. These courses were led by Javier Velasco, Master of the Academy and member of the Habanos distributor for Colombia. This Habanos Academy course was addressed to retailer owners and their staff, as well as to a select group of influencers in the Venezuelan premium tobacco industry, with the participation of more than 45 attendees for the Junior course and 25 for the senior course.
In the three days of work, topics were discussed, such as the Habano and its origin, its different phases, the best-known formats and vitolas, and brand segmentation, among others. Of course, there was also room for a more experiential session in which Habanos were paired with Venezuelan products such as coffee or premium rums.
With this first Academy, the participants had the opportunity to learn about and delve into the Habano, which will serve as training for the retailer’s sales force to improve the purchasing experience of Venezuelan aficionados and consumers.
